In AR-15 Lily, Shepard Fairey explores one of the central themes of his recent work: a critique of gun violence in contemporary society. The work presents a powerful symbolic image in which an assault rifle is transformed into a stem from which a flower emerges, creating a visual tension between destruction and beauty, violence and hope.

Frank Shepard Fairey, OBEY, is an American street artist and graphic designer, best known, among other projects, for the iconic “Hope” poster used by Barack Obama during his presidential campaign. He began his career in street art in the late 1980s and gained international recognition for his graphic style inspired by political propaganda, constructivism, and pop culture. His work addresses themes such as power, peace, social justice, and freedom of expression, and has been featured both in public spaces and in print publications and exhibitions at museums and galleries around the world.
