This carefully crafted artist’s edition brings together forty of Steve McCurry’s most iconic photographs, personally selected by the photographer to commemorate the fortieth anniversary of his famous portrait of Sharbat Gula, the Afghan girl. Published by ARTIKA Books in 2024, it offers a journey through his career via images that reflect his unique sensitivity toward cultural diversity and the human condition.
The work stands out for the quality of its photographic prints, supervised by McCurry, and for its elaborate, handcrafted presentation. The art book is accompanied by a companion volume featuring personal commentary by the artist, texts by Bonnie McCurry and Antoni Ortí, and a chronology of his career. The set is presented in a large-format slipcase whose cover features a reproduction of the iconic portrait of Sharbat Gula on acrylic.
