Hamilton’s connection to aviation dates back to the early decades of the 20th century, when the precision and readability of its instruments helped cement the brand’s prestige in the aeronautical field. The Khaki Aviation collection continues this tradition with watches that combine the ruggedness of instrument watchmaking with technical solutions specifically inspired by the needs of pilots.
Among its most distinctive innovations is the Khaki X-Wind, designed around a mechanical calculator for the drift angle caused by crosswinds. Through a combination of graduated bezels, movable inner scales, and a calculation table engraved on the back, it allows the pilot to determine the course corrections needed to compensate for the effect of crosswinds—a feature rarely found in a wristwatch. The system is complemented by an automatic chronograph with three counters and a day-and-date calendar, integrating various functions into a distinctly technical timepiece.
In the watch descriptions, when it states “it works,” it means the watch is functioning. Since collector’s watches typically have delicate and complex mechanisms, the buyer is responsible for any general servicing, inspection, battery replacement, adjustment, or repair that may be necessary. We do not guarantee the perfect functioning of any watch. All photographs of our watches are original and were taken by our photographers; in other words, we do not use stock photography, which is why the photographs are considered part of the catalog listing.
