BID HISTORY

DESCRIPTION

Viña El Pisón, 2000. D.O.Ca. Rioja, Laguardia, Álava, Basque Country, Spain.
Red wine.
6 bottles of 75 cl.
In its original wooden box. Opened for inspection.
Robert Parker (The Wine Advocate): 96/100.

Condition: Liquid levels between 1 and 2 cm below the cork. Original garnet-red capsules, intact, with the inscription “El Pisón” embossed on the top. Original main labels, complete and legible, with moisture stains of varying intensity. Two of them show more visible damage, though this does not prevent identification of the wine and vintage. Back labels and D.O.Ca. Rioja seals are preserved. Original wooden case bearing the inscription “Viña El Pisón.”

It comes from a private collection, stored under optimal temperature and humidity conditions.

Viña El Pisón is one of Spain’s great single-vineyard wines and one of Bodegas Artadi’s most representative wines. It originates from a small family-owned vineyard in Laguardia, planted in 1945 and cultivated on deep clay-limestone soils. Made exclusively from Tempranillo, it expresses the uniqueness of this Rioja Alavesa terroir through a combination of concentration, elegance, and a distinct mineral character. The 2000 vintage, renowned for its richness and balance, can develop—as it ages in the bottle—a complex aromatic profile of ripe cherry, raspberry, blackcurrant, violets, sweet spices, fine oak, and delicate balsamic notes. On the palate, its structure and natural acidity promote harmonious development, with progressively integrated tannins and a persistent finish.
