DESCRIPTION
Chinese vase, mid-twentieth century
Hand painted porcelain.
With red seal on the base.
Wooden stand.
Certificate enclosed.
Measurements: 62 × 32 × 32 cm (vase); 20 cm (stand).
Chinese vase in enameled and hand painted porcelain, of elegant workmanship and polychrome care. It presents in its main body two large medallions decorated with scenes of birds of paradise among lotus flowers, peonies and chrysanthemums, all represented in great detail and iridescent colors of coral, green and gold tones. These floral and avian scenes evoke an Edenic garden, a traditional symbol of prosperity and harmony.
At the neck, the chocolate-colored background is covered with a rich ornamentation of floral motifs and intertwined borders, adding visual rhythm to the whole. The side handles, in the shape of Fu dogs' heads, hold metal rings on the muzzles, reinforcing the protective and symbolic character of the piece.
