Italian brand Bottega Veneta was founded by Michele Taddei in 1966, when the company started producing handcrafted leather goods. The firm created the design made with interlocking leather, 'Intrecciato', offered on most of its luxury handbags. The simple name 'Bottega Veneta' translates as "Venice store", which perfectly reflects its understated style. Bottega's bags do not feature extravagant designs or flashy logos, but rather are elegant and simple. Their bags were famously monogrammed in the 1970s, leading to their famous slogan: "When your own initials are enough."
