Medium Bamboo Top Handle Flap bag.
Black calfskin leather. Short bamboo top handle and front flap with bamboo twist lock. Long shoulder strap. Gold hardware. Red leather interior. Includes mirror.
In excellent condition, light signs of use.
With interior numbering.
Measurements: 26 x 16 x 8 cm.
The Gucci Bamboo -known then only by its product number, 0633- saw the light in 1947, in post-war Italy. Designer Guccio Gucci and his team of Florentine craftsmen responded to the not inconsiderable problem of leather shortages by equipping their latest bag with a distinctive handle (and twist lock) made of bamboo, an incredibly durable and lightweight material that could be easily imported from Japan.
