The Hermès Picotin is one of the French fashion house’s most recognizable bags due to its simplicity, natural elegance, and close connection to the brand’s equestrian origins. Created in 2002, this model was conceived as a contemporary reinterpretation of traditional equestrian accessories. The name “Picotin” refers to the small pouch or container historically used to hold a horse’s grain ration. This connection to equestrianism ties directly into the history of Hermès, founded in 1837.
