Edward Clegg Wilkinson was a London painter of landscapes, portraits and genre works. He exhibited at the Royal Academy between 1884 and 1904 and also at the Society of British Artists and the New Water-Colour Society. One of his largest and most celebrated works, "Spring-Piccadilly," is in the Laing Art Gallery, Newcastle-upon-Tyne (C. Wood, Victorian Panoramas, London, 1976, p. 151, no. 160).
