Ceiling lamp model "Stockholm II", designed by René Lalique in 1927, one of the most decorative and scenographic creations of his lighting production. The piece is articulated as a large glass flower, with eight leaves spread around a central body of faceted glass with relief decoration, where the light is contained and projected with great subtlety.

The molded, pressed and partially satin-finished glass allows alternating transparencies, opaline areas and plant-inspired reliefs. The ribs of the leaves, carefully worked, intensify the luminous effect and give the whole an almost organic presence, halfway between functional object and decorative sculpture.

Seen from below, the lamp acquires a powerful ornamental dimension, close to a suspended corolla. The signature, the accompanying documentation and its reference in Félix Marcilhac's catalog raisonné consolidate its importance within Lalique's international collecting.

René Lalique is one of the most influential figures in the decorative arts of the 20th century. After a brilliant period as an Art Nouveau jeweler, he became an absolute pioneer of art glass and luxury industrial design. Lalique pieces are preserved in prominent museums such as the Corning Museum of Glass and the Metropolitan in New York, the Louvre or the Orsay in Paris, among many others.
