Porcelain sculpture of the prestigious firm Lladró, designed by Salvador Furió Carbonell, one of the most outstanding sculptors of the house, recognized for his mastery of the human figure and his ability to convey emotion and narrative through modeling.

The work represents an elderly sailor, leaning on the bow of a boat, in an introspective and melancholic attitude. The scene evokes the memory of the sea, the passing of time and the intimate relationship between man and his craft, recurring themes in Lladró's seafaring iconography.

The modeling stands out for the expressiveness of the face, the careful characterization of the gesture and the naturalness of the posture, as well as for the detailed treatment of the clothing, with well-defined folds that provide realism and movement. The enameling presents a sober chromatic palette, dominated by blues, earths and neutral tones, in keeping with the nostalgic character of the scene.

Salvador Furió dedicated most of his life to the realization of religious images and imagery, proof of this are numerous sculptures that are found in different churches, mainly in the Valencian Community. These sculptures have been exhibited in different museums and taken out in procession on important dates.
