DESCRIPTION
VICO MAGISTRETTI (1920–2006) for Cattelan
Side table, ca. 1980.
Glass, lacquered iron, and marble.
In good overall condition. Shows signs of use and aging throughout.
Measurements: 60 cm high; 50 cm in diameter.
A side table with a light and highly graphic design: a circular top made of clear glass, a black tubular frame shaped like a handle, and a base of veined black marble that provides visual weight and stability.
The design plays with the hallmarks of transparency, line, and material. The glass lightens the overall look and reveals the structure, while the iron creates a minimalist, almost architectural silhouette. The marble base adds a touch of elegance and solidity, balancing the lightness of the top.
Thanks to its compact proportions and understated design, it serves as a highly versatile accent piece, suitable next to a sofa, an armchair, or in reading nooks.

His designs are featured in major international collections, including the MoMA in New York.
