The “Galaxia” lamp is one of the most recognizable designs in Spanish lighting from the early 1960s. Designed by Esteve Aparicio-Barba in 1961, it was awarded the Delta de Oro in 1962, a prize that underscores its importance in the modernization of industrial design in Barcelona. It is a highly versatile piece, articulated by pivot points at the base, the arm, and the reflector.
Its appearance combines technical precision with sculptural boldness: the circular base, the chrome-plated tubular arm, and the large black reflector create a dynamic, almost orbital silhouette, in keeping with the modern aesthetic of the era.
