BID HISTORY

DESCRIPTION

After MARIO BELLINI (Milan, Italy, 1935).
“Camaleonda” modular armchairs. High-quality replica made with Italian materials.
Fabric.
The set consists of 4 large modules with backrests (two of which have armrests) and two small modules to create the configuration that best suits your needs.
Measurements: 90 x 90 x 60 cm (large modules); 90 x 60 x 40 cm (small modules).

Designed in 1970 by architect Mario Bellini, “Camaleonda” is a modular sofa that revolutionized the concept of modular systems in contemporary design. Each 90x90 cm module functions as a standalone unit, connectable via hidden hooks that allow the elements to be joined, separated, or rearranged with absolute freedom. Its sculptural character creates a unique visual grid, like a three-dimensional board in constant evolution.

After earning his degree in architecture from the Polytechnic University of Milan, Mario Bellini founded his studio in 1987, and his brand was awarded the Gold Medal of the Chartered Society of Designers in the United Kingdom. In addition, he has received the Compasso d’Oro eight times, and 25 of his works are part of the permanent design collection at MoMA in New York. His profession extends beyond architecture and urban planning, as his passion for interior design has led him to become a furniture designer, collaborating with internationally renowned brands such as Cassina, Kartell, Rosenthal, Venini, Vitra, Driade, and Natuzzi. Bellini’s impact and influence have led him to be involved in notable projects such as The Museum of Islamic Arts at the Louvre in 2012 and the expansion of the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne in 2003.
