Large Art Nouveau mirror frame in silver-plated pewter, decorated in relief with a young lady picking fruit from a tree. In the piece we can see all the influence and aesthetics of the Art Nouveau period, both in its structure and decoration.
Louis Octave Mattei was a student of Georges Tonnelier and was known as a sculptor and engraver of medals. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français between 1904 and 1914. He died in combat in 1918.
