The lamp presents a structure clearly inspired by the French neoclassical style, particularly in the models associated with the Louis XVI period and its reinterpretations of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The central element is made of gilded bronze, with a decoration based on floral garlands, bows and plant motifs, all characteristic of the neoclassical ornamental repertoire. These elements are arranged around an upper body that functions as the visual center of the piece.
Three curved and fluted uprights, also in gilded bronze, descend from this central body towards a triangular base with gently rounded corners and small turned feet. This tripartite structure is typical of certain French decorative designs of the late 19th century, when the workshops produced numerous objects in the historicist style, taking up 18th century languages.
As a whole, the piece can be placed in the European decorative context between 1890 and 1930, when gilded bronze objects produced for bourgeois interiors proliferated, taking as a reference neoclassical models of the 18th century. Although it does not look like a work of a high-level Parisian workshop, it does respond to the quality production typical of the period, with attention to detail and careful decorative finish.
