Castilian table from the Baroque period made of chestnut wood, with a robust structure, skirt with three front drawers and turned legs joined by crosspieces. The fronts have geometric decoration carved in relief, characteristic of the ornamental repertoire of 17th century Castilian furniture, while the iron handles emphasize its functional and austere character.
This type of furniture corresponds to the early Baroque, a style marked by structural solidity, decorative economy and the use of highly resistant local woods. Castilian furniture of the 17th century is distinguished by its formal sobriety, balanced proportions and a construction designed for durability. The turned legs and low crossbeams bring stability to the whole, while conferring visual rhythm to the structure.
Pieces of this type are increasingly appreciated by collectors and interior designers alike, as they represent very authentically the Hispanic domestic furniture of the Golden Age.
