GEORGES BRAQUE (France, 1882 - 1963).
"La petite Tasse".
Lithograph on Japan paper. Copy 63/70.
Signed and justified in pencil.
Measurements: 31,5 x 45 cm.
Georges Braque began his formation in the School of Fine Arts of Havre. Later he will move to Paris, where he continued his studies with a master decorator and in the Humbert Academy. He began his career as a Fauvism artist, but in the fall of 1907 the retrospective exhibition of Cézanne and his friendship with Picasso made him change his style. The work of both, in close relationship, will give rise and evolve Cubism. Georges Braque is represented at the MoMA, the Metropolitan and the Guggenheim in New York, the Orsay in Paris, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, the Palazzo Ruspoli in Rome, the Reina Sofia and the Thyssen-Bornemisza in Madrid, the Tate Gallery in London and the Kunstmuseum in Basel, among many others.
