This painting of allegorical character is part of the late Baroque tradition, showing a mythological scene full of symbolism, dynamism and a studied use of color and light. The scene focuses on a group of female figures in a bucolic and lush landscape. The main focus is a woman seated in the center, dressed in a white tunic and a vibrant red cloak that falls over her legs. Flora could be recognized in her (the Roman goddess of flowers and spring, although she could also be Venus, goddess of love and beauty). Her gesture, with her right hand raised, suggests that she is giving a teaching or presiding over the meeting. Her gaze is directed towards one of her companions. Around her are arranged other young women: Graces or nymphs. To the viewer's right, a woman presents him with a basket full of fresh flowers. To the left, another young woman in a golden dress looks towards the central figure, leaning close to a large classical-style vase also overflowing with flowers. Behind, another female figure in an elegant pose and in a more distant plane, to the left, two other women complete the earthly group. Above the group, in a deep blue sky, flutter two putti (winged sweethearts). One of them holds a garland of flowers and arrows, a classic element symbolizing love and celebration. The flowers, present in the basket, in the vase and in the hands of the putti, are the main symbol of the work, representing fertility, rebirth, beauty and the transience of life.
The style of the painting is characteristic of the Italian eighteenth century, with a clear heritage of the Bolognese and Roman school of the Baroque. A rich and warm color palette is used, dominated by reds, golds and earth tones, which contrast with the vibrant blue of the sky. Light plays a fundamental role, modeling the figures through chiaroscuro, creating volume and highlighting the softness of the fabrics and skin.
