The architect Javier Aranguren has developed a special vocation for painting and, above all, for engraving. In his various graphic series, clear traits of his architectural training can be appreciated, manifesting themselves through a style that is aligned with geometric abstraction. Parallel to his architectural studies, he attended a modeling workshop at the School of Arts and Crafts. After graduating from the ETSAM with a mention in urbanism, he attended an architecture workshop with Francisco Javier Sáenz de Oiza at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid. That same year, he began his path in the graphic arts with a lithography course at the Brita Prinz Gallery (Madrid). He obtained a master's degree in Architectural Projects in 1990 and, seven years later, he delved into intaglio engraving with a three-year course (1997-2000) also at the Brita Prinz gallery. His first exhibition was at Club Zayas (Madrid) in 1996. Since then, he has exhibited in numerous cities, including Madrid, Seville, Marbella, A Coruña, Logroño, Segovia, Valencia, Bilbao, as well as in Nagoya (Japan) and Krakow.
