A work with a strong frontal presence, centered on a female face with stylized features and great chromatic intensity. The composition is built through vivid planes of color that fragment the face and give it an expressive and symbolic dimension.
A painter and altarpiece artist, Jordi Vila Rufas trained at the Massana School in Barcelona, where he later taught Form and Color and Altarpieces and Polychromy. Considered one of the leading innovators of altarpiece art in Catalonia during the second half of the 20th century, he developed a body of work marked by medieval tradition, polychromy, gilding, and a progressive renewal of religious and ornamental language. He created altarpieces, murals, stained-glass windows, and mosaics, including works for the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. His work is represented in institutions such as the Museu del Disseny in Barcelona.
