In this portrait, Isabel Guerra combines a naturalistic depiction of the subject’s features with a freer style in the clothing and background. Isabel Guerra began painting at a very young age and completed her training by studying the great masters at the Prado Museum. At the age of fifteen, she held her first solo exhibition in Madrid. In 1970, she entered the Cistercian Monastery of Santa Lucía in Zaragoza, where she has pursued an extensive career focused on figurative painting. She is a member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts and Historical Sciences of Toledo and an honorary member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Luis in Zaragoza.
