In this work, Suse Christiansen develops an abstract painting of strong structural tension, articulated from circles, ribbons and chromatic bands that overlap and dialogue within the pictorial field. The work is organized in successive layers of color, where the broad fields are interrupted by lines, gestures and curved forms that act as vectors of movement and rhythm.

Circles function as visual anchor points, while ribbons and bands trace paths that suggest trajectories, limits and transitions. These forms do not describe a figurative space, but build a mental territory, where the gaze advances following tensions, balances and chromatic counterpoints.

The combined use of oil, acrylic, pastel and charcoal reinforces the material-gestural richness of the surface. Areas of dense color coexist with more veiled passages and drawn lines, evidencing a pictorial process that alternates control and spontaneity.

Christiansen's abstraction asserts itself as an open language, in which form and color act as metaphors of experience, transit and perception. His work, rich in color and surface, traces a path between the tradition of abstract expressionism and contemporary compositional freedom.
