Remarkable pair of roosters in Portuguese silver, with workshop or silversmith Edy de Jesus' mark and Lisbon punches that certify the 800 thousandth grade. The typology of the hallmarks allows us to place their production in the 20th century, within the framework of the Portuguese regulations in force, without implying an exact chronology of execution.
The pieces stand out for the richness of the modeling and the meticulous work of the plumage, resolved with marked naturalism and compositional dynamism, as well as for the expressive force of the heads and crests. This technical virtuosity places the set within the quality decorative production of contemporary Portuguese silverware.
Due to its remarkable weight, its careful execution and the presence of an identifiable workshop mark, this is a set of great interest both for collecting European silver and for high-level decoration.
