French table clock of the end of the XIX century, accompanied by a pair of ornamental cups or decorative urns that conform an elegant set of neoclassical style.
The set is made of gilded bronze and Belgian black marble, materials that reflect both the technical sophistication and refined taste of the period. The clock, arranged in the center, rests on a stepped base of black marble with finely chiseled bronze applications. The main body of the clock has a rectangular structure with sober lines, enhanced by gilded ornamental motifs including scrolls, garlands and lion heads on the sides, symbol of strength and nobility. The circle of the dial is framed by a golden molding with finely worked reliefs, and inside the Roman numerals stand out on a dark background, a detail that adds an air of classical solemnity.
On both sides of the clock are the urns, conceived in perfect symmetry. These pieces have an elongated and stylized shape, with curved handles topped with male heads that evoke female busts, a frequent feature in French decoration of the second half of the nineteenth century.
