Hallway rug, Iran.
This rug was made by joining two halves together, as can be seen in the difference in color and stitching, especially on the reverse side. It features a red field decorated with a row of medallions of various shapes and designs, all composed of highly stylized plant motifs of tribal origin. The border consists of three bands, decorated with friezes of serrated leaves and flowers. Complementary colors: white, ochres, turquoise, pink, beige, blue, and brown.
Measurements: 243 x 101 cm.
