This pen was manufactured in 1989 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the French Revolution. It is made of an elegant black resin on both the barrel and the cap, decorated with gold details. On the top of the cap, above the inlaid coin, is engraved the text: 1789-1989 Bicentenaire de la Révolution Française.
The clip features an engraving with three birds in flight and the dates 1789-1889. The 18-karat gold nib, in two-tone finish, is finely engraved with the Waterman Ideal Paris stamp.
