The work in tender was made, most likely, by a painter of the Mallorcan School of Landscape. This movement meant a revitalization of the genre, as the artists concentrated on the investigation of light and color, breaking with the predominant classicist academicism. The influence of Impressionism, marked by the arrival of Catalan artists such as Santiago Rusiñol and Joaquim Mir at the end of the 19th century, was crucial; Mir, in particular, used the landscape of Mallorca for his bold chromatic explorations.
