Self-taught, Baqués has devoted himself mainly to advertising graphics. He also developed an important teaching work at the Escuela Oficial de Publicidad de Barcelona and at the Escuela Massana. His awards include the Delta de Plata ADI/FAD (1962) and the first prize for posters at the Joan Miró International Drawing Competition (1967). His artistic ability is reflected in the international projection of his work. In addition to having exhibited in numerous Spanish cities, his painting is present in various countries around the world, such as Italy, Germany, the United States, Japan, Sweden, France and Canada.
