"Hivern" is fully integrated in Moscardó's mature production and is an excellent example of his attention to the emblematic urban landscape, understood not as a mere architectural view, but as an atmospheric and emotional experience. The work takes as its motif Antoni Gaudí's La Pedrera, one of the icons of Barcelona's modernism, reinterpreted from a personal, subjective and deeply expressive pictorial gaze.

The figures with umbrellas, reduced to schematic presences, provide a human scale and reinforce the sensation of urban intimacy, common in the artist's work. There is no anecdote or literal description: the city appears as a sensitive organism, traversed by climate, light and the passage of time. This vision connects with Moscardó's constant search for inhabited spaces, charged with memory and emotion, far from any monumentalist or touristic reading.

Josep Moscardó is a Catalan painter trained in Barcelona, at the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes de Sant Jordi and La Lonja. Active since the mid-seventies, he has focused his work mainly on the urban landscape, understood as a lived and emotional space. He has exhibited his work individually both in Spain (Sala Vayreda, Sala Parés, Tavira gallery, and many others) and abroad (Serendipity and D.J. Lester galleries in Los Angeles). His presence abroad is remarkable in group exhibitions: "The new impressionists" (Brentwood Portfolio in Los Angeles and Art Expo in New York), I.G.I in Chicago, Art Asia in Hong Kong, David Messum Gallery in London, Bankaku Gallery in Nagoya and Art Box Gallery in Tokyo. He is currently working with Sala Parés in Barcelona.
