This drawing is part of the most lyrical and intimate side of Olga Sacharoff's production, especially visible after her Parisian period and consolidated after her definitive installation in Barcelona. The composition evokes a dreamlike and poetic world, with soft lines and a delicate palette, where the figurative dissolves in ethereal atmospheres. The treatment of the female body, almost spectral, surrounded by floral motifs, is characteristic of his personal language, far from the initial cubist rigor and close to a symbolist and neo-romantic sensibility, very unique within the historical avant-garde.
Sacharoff was a key artist of the European avant-garde, linked in her beginnings to cubism and close to the circles of Picasso, Braque and Juan Gris during her stay in Paris. She evolved towards a deeply personal style, marked by fantasy, poetic evocation and a free reinterpretation of the human figure, which made her a creator difficult to pigeonhole.
Her work is part of important public collections, among them the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya (MNAC), the Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona, the Museo Reina Sofía and various European institutional and private collections, which today recognize her fundamental role as a singular figure of 20th century artistic modernity.
