He was a Catalan painter, specialized in portraits. He studied at the School of Fine Arts of Barcelona and at the Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando in Madrid, where he was a disciple of Sorolla. He participated in the Fine Arts Exhibition of Barcelona in 1894. In 1900 he moved to Paris and in 1906 to New York, where he settled and where he worked as a portrait painter, a field in which he specialized. In 1925 he was the author of a portrait of Thomas Ustick Walter, architect of the U.S. Capitol. He lived in Havana, where he painted portraits of illustrious people, and also in Panama. In 1929 he returned definitively to Barcelona, where he held several exhibitions. In 1933 he exhibited in the Layetanas Galleries several paintings made in places of the Costa Brava. In 1935 he exhibited at the Sala Busquets and the critic Rafael Benet i Vancells described him as a colorist with works similar to those of the masters of the Royal Academy. He is represented in the Museum of Modern Art in Barcelona.
