Calsina constructs here a winter scene of narrative and humorous character, where the action and the anecdote are combined with a loose and expressive drawing. On a mountain landscape barely suggested, populated by soft hills and a schematic sun, the characters move with exaggerated gestures and almost theatrical attitudes, giving the scene a playful tone close to illustration.

Calsina is represented in several Spanish museums, as well as in important private collections. In 2009 the Ramón Calsina Foundation was created, promoted by his heirs.
