The LC1 armchair is one of the most iconic pieces of 20th-century modern furniture. Designed by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, and Charlotte Perriand in 1928, it embodies the rationalist ideal of a lightweight, functional, and refined structure, in which each element serves a specific purpose. The combination of chrome-plated metal tubing, leather, and synthetic leather embodies the desire to unite industry, comfort, and formal elegance.

The piece stands out for its tensioned backrest and seat, which adapt to the body and reinforce the idea of a “seating machine” championed by Le Corbusier. Cassina’s signed and numbered edition guarantees its connection to the authorized production of the great designs of the modernist movement.
