The brooch "Utopia", representing a winged nymph, exemplifies the continuity of the aesthetic universe of Masriera, one of the essential firms of Spanish artistic jewelry. Made as a later production of the Masriera/Bagués-Masriera house, the piece recovers the modernist iconography that made the firm famous at the beginning of the 20th century: the idealized feminine figure, the refinement of fire enamel and the conception of jewelry as a small-format artistic object.

Founded in Barcelona in 1839, Masriera reached a central position in modernist jewelry thanks to Lluís Masriera, who from 1901 profoundly renewed the language of the firm by integrating French techniques of fire enamel with motifs of symbolist and naturalist inspiration. Nymphs, female figures, insects and plant forms became part of an unmistakable repertoire, marked by technical delicacy and chromatic richness.
In 1985, the union with Bagués made it possible to preserve the house's molds, archives and artisanal procedures, giving continuity to a production linked to Masriera's historical models. This is the context of the "Utopia" brooch, a jewel that combines fidelity to the modernist legacy, demanding technical execution and full identification with the aesthetics of the firm.
