Created in 1994, this work is linked to one of Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s most iconic projects: the wrapping of the Reichstag in Berlin, conceived in 1971 and finally realized between June 24 and July 7, 1995. After more than two decades of negotiations, the German Parliament approved the project in February 1994, making the installation an event of extraordinary artistic and symbolic significance in reunified Germany. This print reproduces a preparatory collage for the project, combining an image of the wrapped building, technical notes, a site plan, and a depiction of the fabric used. The superimposition of graphic and photographic elements reflects the importance the artists placed on the planning and documentation process for their installations.
Christo and Jeanne-Claude formed one of the most influential creative duos in contemporary art, internationally recognized for their ephemeral installations in landscapes, buildings, and public spaces. Among their most iconic projects are *Running Fence* (California, 1976), *The Pont Neuf Wrapped* (Paris, 1985), *Wrapped Reichstag* (Berlin, 1995), and *The Gates* (New York, 2005). Their creations temporarily transformed the perception of the environment, challenging the traditional boundaries of sculpture and the relationship between art, architecture, and public space. Their career has been the subject of major international exhibitions, and their work is represented in institutions such as the National Gallery of Art in Washington and the Centre Pompidou in Paris.
