Pierre Fix-Masseau was an artist and designer known mainly for his work as an illustrator and poster artist. He was part of a prominent family of sculptors-his father, Pierre Félix Fix-Masseau, was a renowned symbolist sculptor-although he turned his career toward the graphic arts. Fix-Masseau specialized in the creation of advertising posters and graphic designs during the 20th century, especially in the interwar and postwar periods. His style combines influences of Art Deco and modernism, with clean compositions, effective use of color and a strong communicative capacity. He worked on advertising campaigns, illustrations and editorial design, establishing himself as a leading figure in the field of French poster design.
