BID HISTORY
DESCRIPTION
French school of the 18th century.
"Still life with pewter jug".
Oil on paper adhered to board.
It presents craquelados.
Measurements: 29 x 41 cm.
Eighteenth-century painting of French origin representing a still life with loaves of bread and a metal jug, skillfully worked in their brightness and glazes. The ochre background dialogues in its chromatism with the toasted crust of the bread and with the predominance of warm tones. The whole is frugal, almost mystical (in addition to the fact that the bread acquires liturgical connotations), which contrasts with the ostentation of cold cuts and abundant delicacies of traditional still lifes.
