From a young age Valentín Durbán showed a remarkable artistic sensitivity, which led him to become interested in painting in a difficult period of Spanish history, marked by the post-war period and the social changes that would influence the country's culture. Throughout his life, Durbán was closely linked to the Valencian art scene, developing a style that, although not widely documented today, reflected a profound technical mastery and a commitment to the pictorial traditions of his time. His work encompasses mainly still lifes and paintings of traditional subject matter, and although information on his complete output is limited, some academic studies highlight his talent and the importance of his contribution to Spanish art in the mid-twentieth century.
