Felisa Cortada was primarily self-taught in Barcelona. She began exhibiting her work in 1972 and has since participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions in Barcelona and elsewhere. Her work is dominated by landscapes, rendered from a Post-Impressionist perspective with loose brushstrokes and intense light, and by the female figure. She typically works in oil, but also uses pastel, as in this case, with a confident and spontaneous stroke that demonstrates her technical skill as a draftsman.
