Painter and sculptor, Dominica Sánchez understands her works as "personal observations of a natural world, marked by a dialogue between the fragile and ephemeral and the musculature of volume". Her paintings, generally of large formats, are characterized by curved forms of great simplicity, although they contain a great expressive charge and emotional depth. According to the artist herself, her works are not sketches for future sculptures, but are individual works that stand on their own, without having to depend on a sculptural project to express all that their production entails. However, it will be this pictorial language that will lead the Catalan artist to discover the possibilities hidden in the third dimension, making interesting sculptures inspired by the constructivist tradition, in which she manipulates different materials, such as iron, whose folds, curves and welds surprise the viewer, recalling works by important sculptors of the Spanish and international scene, such as Oteiza, Gonzalez or Nicholson. The artist Dominica Sanchez has a great national and international career, having held exhibitions throughout her career in different European countries and also in the United States, in galleries such as Denise Lévy in Paris or Haim Chanin in New York.
