Ornamental plate decorated in its entirety by motifs of vegetal character that tend to the horro vacui and presents a symmetrical aesthetic pattern. The pottery follows models of the Iznik style and constitutes one of the main artistic manifestations of the Islamic culture. Muslim potters produced from the earliest times a wide range of objects for everyday use, as well as tiles, using designs directly derived from metalwork and book illumination. One of the most brilliant moments of Islamic ceramics took place in the Ottoman sphere of the 15th and 16th centuries, and within the Ottoman Empire the production of the city of Iznik was particularly noteworthy.

Royal Boch is a Walloon ceramics factory, probably the best known on Belgian soil. Founded in 1841, the company was renamed Boch Frères S.N.C. in 1844. The company also manufactures ceramic products under the (Boch) Keramis brand.
