Trained at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Barcelona, Sunyer was awarded in 1975 and 1981 with the Young Painting Prize of the Sala Parés. He also won the silver medal in the "El Correo Catalán" Contest in 1976, and the Ynglada-Guillot International Drawing Prize in 1994. He has exhibited periodically at the Sala Parés since 1981, and has exhibited internationally in Milan and New York. Sunyer's work is characterized by a totally personal pictorial voice, with scenes that arise more from time than from space, reflecting mental, conceptual images, drawn directly from his own imagination, without intermediaries. His work can be found in the "Col-lecció Testimoni" of the La Caixa Foundation, the Barcelona City Council, the Banks of Spain and Sabadell and the Zona Franca Consortium.
