BID HISTORY

DESCRIPTION

1 bottle of Château Pavie, 2011. 1st. Grand Cru Classé. Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Bordeaux. France.
Red wine. 75 cl.
Level A.
Parker Score: 95/100.
See images to check the condition of the label.

Provenance: Private collector. Stored in a private warehouse with controlled temperature and humidity.

Expert's tasting note: "Opaque purple-red color. Intense and rich aromas of ripe red and black fruits with notes of meat and new oak. In the mouth it has a good fresh acidity. The wine has a warm alcohol and many intense and drying tannins which make the dark, intense black fruit seem quite tasty. A huge wine that could be considered over-extracted. Considering its enormous proportions and high ripeness, it is surprisingly balanced."

In 1873, Ferdinand Bouffard, a Bordeaux merchant, inherited the Domaine de la Sable. Over the next 20 years he acquired small adjacent vineyards until creating a 50-hectare property. Although what would become Château Pavie in the future was born from this, Bouffard continued vinifying and selling the wine from each property separately.
In 1919, he acquired the property from Albert Porte, who united all the plots to form Château Pavie. In the first classification of Saint Émilion in 1959, Château Pavie managed to be recognized as a Premier Grand Cru Classé.
The Château changes hands until it reaches the current owners, Gerard and Chantal Perse, who acquire it in 1998. In 2012 it is promoted to Premier Grand Cru Classé “A”.
