This devotional carving represents a Virgin in her invocation of the Immaculate Conception. She joins her hands in a praying attitude and places her feet on the crescent moon resting on a cluster of clouds, alluding to her heavenly ascension. She naturalizes her posture in a slight leg movement, and the forward knee prints a naturalistic and dynamic game of deep folds in the tunic. The tunic combines an over-gilded floral print that emulates sumptuous embroidery. Her youthful face with wavy hair, crowned with a crown and halo, exudes serene kindness.
