Jean-Louis-Benjamin Gros was registered until 1850 as Ébéniste and Marqueteur at 27 rue des Blancs-Manteaux and then, until 1863, at 43 rue du Tourneau.

Elegant French Louis XVI style mezzanine. Made of mahogany wood, it has finely chiseled gilded bronze fillets and fretwork adorning the front and flanks. A laurel wreath embossed in bronze, delicately worked leaf by leaf, decorates the front door. The body is elevated on legs with a golden corolla, and is flanked by fluted columns in stipes. The curved profiles of the sides give the piece of furniture a lightened design. The interior is compartmentalized with three shelves. Scrolls, palmettes and gadroons outline the marbled marble top. An outstanding exponent of French neoclassicism, this piece of furniture stands out for its ingenious harmonization of straight and curved lines, resulting in a rectilinear predominance that stylizes the whole.
