In this canvas the author portrays a young lady of fine features, captured in the foreground, in rigorous profile, in a completely natural attitude that moves away from the canons of the genre, breaking with the protocol distance that is usually established in the portrait between spectator and model. Nevertheless, the absolute center of the image is the affable countenance of the young woman, whose concentrated eyes are directed towards something we do not see, losing themselves in the distance.
