José García Prieto was born in Cádiz, and he began his interest in art very early. So much so that at the age of twelve he sold one of his works. Self-taught, Garcia Prieto decided to work in the field of interior design and it was not until his thirties that he began painting professionally. It was then that his exhibition career began. His work is characterised by a realistic aesthetic, where the qualities and details are of great importance.
