In 1966, Herikberto Muela moved to the capital, where he began his artistic training. He studied at the School of Arts and Crafts, the School of Ceramics and Fine Arts in Madrid and studied drawing and artistic procedures with Antonio Marcoida and Francisco López Soldado. He had his first exhibition at the prestigious Juana Mordó Gallery in Madrid. He has not only developed his career as a painter, but has also explored the field of illustration, becoming a reference in the world of comics and publishing with major publishers such as La Luna, Comics Interntacional, Rambla and Heavy Metal, which published part of his career. He has also worked in the world of cinema.
