The katar is a type of thrusting dagger from the Indian subcontinent.The weapon is characterized by its horizontal H-shaped hilt, which brings the blade above the knuckles of the user. Unique to the Indian subcontinent, it is the most famous and characteristic of Indian daggers. Ceremonial katars were also used in worship.
